The Poetry of Change

CHANGE

Some people love it. Some people hate it.

We say that we need it. But we just don’t do it

What seems to stop us? Why can’t we see?

Perhaps it is time, for a BUTectomy!

It’s time to change. to a new paradigm

And when we do I know that we’ll find

Fewer divorces, happier kids

Fewer regrets, from the bad things we did

We won’t have to wonder. if our lives had much value

We’ll know through the lives saved, that this paradigm’s true

Because each one is different, supremely unique

With irreplaceable “products” that people will seek

No one before you or after you will come

That is more gifted or needed by some

If we all understood no one else anywhere

Can do what we do with the passion we share

No one else is created with the same hopes and dreams

With the same gifts and talents even though it may seem

That we are replaceable, at that job or in life

But that’s just not true, for even in our strife

We still make a difference to that one whose in need

Who just needs some hope, if only a seed

That they too have value and they can survive

To give hope to others and that’s why they’re alive

So now look around you, and see who is there

Can you change your perception? Are you willing to share?

Will you give them a drink, from your well of new wisdom

Will you be an open faucet, where the thirsty can come?

Will you offer the hope that they are a valuable tool

That they are needed and wanted and nobody’s a fool

We are in this together, because change can be hard

But there is no way around it, It’s what’s in the cards

So let’s start today, to change the world with our dreams

And let’s do it together, its not as hard as it seems

Let’s look for the good, and let go of the negative

Let’s offer hope, and in hope we will live
