So you survived Thanksgiving and Christmas but do you have a food, booze, drug or spending hangover? Maybe there has been some relationship damage in the interim and if something doesn’t change, the long term consequences could be devastating. In other words, things didn’t go as you would have liked and now you are here sitting in the aftermath.
Perhaps you have worked hard, for months to take off that 5 pounds and you gained it all back in a couple of weeks. Maybe you finally got caught up on bills and now you wracked up a bunch debt trying to impress others with your gift-giving. You really didn’t want it to become a competition but in your own mind, you felt it wasn’t really an option but a need. It is just what you do. Even if it costs money you don’t have.
Today is a new day. So is tomorrow. You can string them together and one day at a time you can change your life. You can change your future and you can make the choices that you want to make. You can close the integrity gap of not doing what you know God has created you for. You can clean up the mess and start again. One day at a time. If that seems too long take it one minute at a time. One changed thought at a time.
Don’t try and do it alone. It won’t work. Not for the long haul. We aren’t meant to do life alone. God created us all different so we could help each other. If we aren’t doing our part somebody isn’t getting what they need to move forward. If we aren’t accepting help from others we are cheating them and ourselves.
So you see, now is the time to accept the things you cannot change. Change the things you can. And if you don’t know, you need to gain the wisdom to know the difference.
Let’s do this together. Let’s do it NOW!
