STEP 1- We admitted we were powerless over our addictions (problems) and that our lives had become unmanageable.
THE PROBLEM
Where do I go from here? Is probably the question we ask ourselves more than any other. For many of us, it is a difficult if not impossible task if we don’t have someone steering the ship. When we are not able to “admit we are powerless” and we are trying to operate a ship that we have never even been on we find ourselves wandering in an ocean of confusion. We must surrender the notion that just because we are on the ship that we should somehow be experts at operating the ship and set up the right coordinates. When we finally surrender and realize that there is a qualified Captain who can take us in the right direction and get us to a safe place we can regain the serenity that we enjoyed when we were on dry land. ‘
THE PROMISE
“If you want to know what God wants you to do ask Him and he will tell you but you must ask with faith and no doubting for anyone who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind and let no person ever supposed that The :will ever receive anything from the Lord. James 1:5-8
THE PRAYER
God I have never steered a ship and I am scared! I know there are many other things I could do on this ship that would be of help but Lord I need someone else to take over before I get everyone around me lost. I need your help Lord knowing what things I can do to be of help.
SPEAK TO ME GOD, I AM LISTENING!
My Child,
Not only have I charted the course of your life but I am an expert at operating the course of it. You don’t need to worry about crossing the vast ocean or being tossed by the waves because I will be the Captain of the ship and you can get to the other side where there is a land where your feet can be firmly planted and your joy will be full. Rest in my ability to navigate your life!
